Assistant Accountant
South Leicestershire | Up to £35,000 | Full-time, permanent
Macildowie is exclusively recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing business in South Leicestershire.
This is a broad, hands-on role that would suit someone who already has good all-round finance experience and is now looking for their next step. You’ll work closely with the wider finance team and get involved in everything from day-to-day transactional finance through to VAT returns and month-end duties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the sales and purchase ledgers
- Processing invoices, credit notes and payments
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Processing expenses
- Investigating and resolving account queries
- Assisting with month-end duties and reconciliations
- Preparing VAT returns
- Supporting year-end requirements
- Keeping financial records accurate and up to date
- Helping with other finance tasks when needed
We’re looking for someone who has worked in a similar finance role and is comfortable managing their own workload. You’ll need practical experience of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, VAT returns and month-end processes.
You’ll also be organised, accurate and confident communicating with people across the business. Good Excel skills are important, along with a willingness to get stuck in and support the team.
The salary is up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
