Machnet Medical Robotics (MMR), founded in 2020, is on a mission to revolutionise medical robotics. Our guiding principle is simple: innovation must improve patient outcomes, support clinicians without disrupting workflows, and empower healthcare staff rather than adding burden. MMR is a well-funded company with long-term investors and a strong financial foundation. Our hardware and software teams have developed a fully functional medical robotic platform that has successfully completed animal trials. As we move into the next phase, we are refining the mechanical design for production with a focus on safety, reliability, manufacturability, and scalability, preparing our technology for deployment in hospitals worldwide.
About the Role
We are seeking a Software Verification Engineer with experience in software testing and some Python experience to join our growing engineering team in central London. In this role, you will verify internal software tools, supporting software, third-party software libraries, and supporting engineering applications used throughout the development of our medical robotic platform. You will create and execute requirements-based verification activities, produce validation evidence, and develop small automation solutions where appropriate. You will work closely with software engineers and senior testers to ensure engineering tools and supporting software are validated before use within our regulated development environment. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, is curious about new technologies, and wants to further develop their Python automation and technical testing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute verification activities for internal software tools, supporting software applications, and software libraries
- Develop requirements based verification test cases and execute manual verification activities
- Develop Python scripts, lightweight automation, and simple test harnesses where they improve verification efficiency
- Verify new versions of engineering tools, supporting software applications, and software libraries before their adoption within the development environment
- Support the verification of machine learning applications by creating and executing verification activities, developing targeted automation, and validating expected outputs
- Work closely with software engineers to understand the intended use of engineering tools and supporting software, translating requirements into verification test cases and validation activities
- Investigate issues identified during verification and support engineers in their resolution
- Produce validation reports and verification evidence to demonstrate engineering tools and supporting software are suitable for use within the development environment
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience using Python for test automation or scripting, with a desire to further develop your automation skills
- Comfortable working within Linux-based development environments
- Strong understanding of software testing principles with a methodical approach to verification and attention to detail
- Curious about new technologies and enjoys learning new tools and ways of working
- Able to work independently on smaller verification activities while collaborating with senior testers and software engineers on more complex projects
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment
- Eligibility to work on-site at our central London office
Experience We Value
- Interest in machine learning and AI technologies, or experience supporting the verification of machine learning applications
- Ability to read and understand C++ code to support debugging and verification activities
- Exposure to testing in regulated or safety critical environments
- Familiarity with medical device software development standards such as IEC 62304 and ISO 13485
Why Join Us?
At MMR, you will work at the intersection of robotics, AI, and healthcare, building technology that directly impacts patient care and clinical outcomes. You will join a mission-driven, collaborative team where your technical expertise will meaningfully shape the future of medical robotics. We believe technology must serve people responsibly. Human-centred innovation, integrity, and long-term responsibility guide how we design products and how we support our team members’ growth and well-being.
