  • Lead the development and optimization of electronic systems for medical robotics, including circuit design, power management, and embedded systems.

  • Design schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools like Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, and/or AutoCAD Electrical.

  • Select and integrate electrical/electronic components (e.g., sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and power supplies) that align with performance and safety standards.

  • Design fail-safe mechanisms and redundancy systems to ensure reliability in critical medical applications.

  • Implement and document safety measures, including grounding, isolation, and protection mechanisms.

  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.

  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses, identifying and mitigating risks associated with electrical/electronic systems.

  • Ensure design processes align with ISO 14971 for risk management in medical devices.

  • Ensure designs meet regulatory standards, including IEC 60601, FDA, and ISO 13485 requirements for safety, EMC, and risk management.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power distribution, signal integrity, and control system performance.

  • Maintain detailed records of design changes, test results, and compliance certifications for audit readiness.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and methods relevant to medical device design.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a similar field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical/electronics design, with a focus on medical devices or similar regulated industries.

  • Proven track record of working with IEC 60601 standards and other medical device regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).

  • Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, AutoCAD Electrical) for schematic capture and PCB layout.

  • Knowledge of I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, Ethernet or EtherCAT for system integration.

  • Familiarity with power electronics, motor control, and signal conditioning circuits.

  • Experience in designing and developing electrical/electronic systems for medical devices, particularly those classified as Class II or Class III.

  • Experience preparing technical documentation for regulatory submissions, including FDA, EU MDR or similar.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, from concept to production, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
