The role:

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team in our centrally located Nottingham Head Office. We are close to the City centre, with good links to the bus and tram network and the local train station.

You will be an experienced operational HR Advisor or HR Assistant who will support the HR function in providing practical, solution focused advice on general HR and People matter with a strong background in supporting managers with Employee Relations and case work.

You will be the go-to person for managers to provide expert advice and support in relation to HR policies and procedures and ensuring they are implemented.

You will be involved in upskilling management capability and coaching managers in relation to any employee relations cases and people development. You will need to be comfortable with rolling you sleeves up and having the initiative to provide pragmatic solutions to the business.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Generalist HR responsibilities across the organisation, working closely with the HR Manager on a wide array of HR duties
  • Manage the ER case-load across the business, supporting line managers with disciplinaries, grievance, absence management and flexible working requests, as well as performance management
  • Provide comprehensive HR support to employees and managers across the region, promoting best HR practice
  • Manage recruitment processes, including job posting on job boards & social media, interviewing, and on-boarding
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, measuring their effectiveness and compliance to employment law
  • Supporting with learning & development across the business.

This role is office based with occasional travel to other sites which dependant on geography, may require an overnight stay so a full driving licence is a necessity.

What we need from you:

  • Sound knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Ideally CIPD Level 3 qualified or equivalent (desirable not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to handle confidential information sensitively and professionally
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willing to be office based, with ad-hoc travel to different sites
  • Valid UK driving licence
