Machas & Partners Law Firm is seeking a high-performing mid-level associate to join its London’s Corporate & Transactions practice, supporting the Firm’s London office and working primarily on UK law-governed corporate and banking transactions. This role is designed for a UK-qualified solicitor or foreign-qualified lawyer under the Solicitor Regulation Authority (SRA) with demonstrable experience advising on UK corporate transactions, who is looking to work on sophisticated, cross-border matters within a genuinely international practice.
The successful candidate will be part of a transactional team advising corporate stakeholders including acquirers and target companies, financial institutions, private equity funds and investors on complex domestic and cross-border transactions across a broad range of sectors, including technology, financial services, hospitality and real estate.

The Role
The role will involve a broad range of UK-focused and cross-border transactional work, including:
- Advising on UK and cross-border M&A transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, reorganisations and joint ventures.
- Advising on banking and finance transactions, including acquisition finance, corporate lending and related security structures.
- Supporting venture capital and private equity investments, including investment rounds, shareholders’ agreements and exit transactions.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating UK law-governed documentation, including share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, facility agreements and security documents.
- Working closely with partners in London, as well as directly with international clients and counterparties.
We welcome applications from corporate lawyers for a role based in Athens or London, working exclusively with our London office.
Requirements
- UK-qualified solicitor (England & Wales) or foreign-qualified lawyer
- 2–5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience (flexible for exceptional candidates)
- Experience advising on corporate transactions, ideally including M&A and/or banking & finance
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills in English. Fluency in Greek (spoken and written) is desirable
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to operate in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within cross-border teams
- LL.M. or equivalent postgraduate qualification is desirable but not mandatory
