An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Team Leader to join a busy warehouse and distribution site in Southampton. This role supports the Team Leader in supervising warehouse operatives and agency staff, ensuring the smooth running of daily operations and meeting operational targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Team Leader with the daily supervision of operatives and agency staff
- Ensure warehouse systems are used effectively (JD Edwards, Excel, Webfocus, Outlook)
- Oversee warehouse activities including replenishment, DRP, picking, packing, returns and shipping
- Act as the first point of contact for staff queries
- Assist with inductions and provide on-the-job training for new starters
- Support the planning and booking of agency staff based on operational needs
- Check and amend staff hours to ensure accurate reporting and payroll
