We are looking for a Sous Chef.

Rate of pay: £15.01 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Location: Trafford Park, M17

Mach Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to support the delivery of high-quality, efficient catering services within a busy UK manufacturing site in Trafford Park from November till Friday 19 December.

This role involves high quality food preparation, compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining a smooth day-to-day operation that meets the needs of a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Culinary & Operational Duties
  • Support the Head Chef with daily food production
  • Plan, prepare, cook, and present dishes to agreed standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Manage kitchen operations when the Head Chef is absent.
  • Ensure cost-effective use of ingredients and minimise waste in line with budget targets.
Compliance & Safety:
  • Maintain full compliance with UK food safety legislation (Food Safety Act, HACCP, allergen controls).
  • Ensure the kitchen and equipment meet health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie within a high-volume environment (contract catering, manufacturing, hospitality, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of UK food hygiene standards and HACCP procedures.
  • Level 2 Food Safety required; Level 3 Food Safety preferred.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.
  • Comfortable with early shifts typical of manufacturing site catering (optional).
