A leading manufacturing and design business is seeking an experienced Contract / Trade Design Manager to lead and develop a high-performing design function. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded leader with strong operational, people management, and customer service expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Designers
  • Drive departmental performance through effective KPI management and reporting.
  • Manage client escalations and provide resolution support for complex design and customer issues.
  • Ensure all design work meets company quality standards, compliance requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular audits to monitor performance, accuracy, and process adherence.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Design Manager, Contracts Manager, Trade Manager, or similar leadership position.
  • Proven experience managing large design teams within kitchens, interiors, construction products, manufacturing, or a related sector.
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Experience handling customer or client escalations and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of KPI management, auditing, quality control, and performance improvement.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organised, commercially aware, and results-driven.
