Driver (Multi-Drop)/ Yardsman Location: Stornoway Hours: Full Time / 37.5 hours per week At MacGregor Industrial Supplies, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service to our customers across the North of Scotland. We are currently seeking a Multi-Drop Driver / Yardsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of items safely and efficiently to multiple locations across the Western Isles, ensuring timely and professional service. They will also be responsible for the cleanliness, safety and stock availability in our yards.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver a wide range of items to various locations across the Western Isles.
- Follow assigned routes and adhere to scheduled delivery times.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Carry out vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicles are roadworthy before use.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and reports.
- Comply with DOT regulations and adhere to company safety standards.
- Ensure the allocated delivery vehicle is always fit for purpose.
- Respond to customer queries in a polite and professional manner, passing relevant information to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain clean, safe and stocked yards
What we're looking for
- Full UK driving licence (preferably clean).
- License to drive 7.5-tonne vehicles with DCPC – desirable but not essential.
- Forklift licence - desirable but not essential.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills for accurate completion of delivery paperwork.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
- Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
- Positive attitude towards new challenges and change.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
