Join our Workshop Team. At Macgregor Industrial Supplies, we're looking for someone practical, hands-on and customer focused to join our team as a Workshop Technician. We're looking for a skilled Technician to work on a wide range of machinery including Honda ATV.

The Role

You'll be at the heart of the operation making sure the equipment is serviced, repaired and ready to go. What you'll be doing:

  • To diagnose faults, service and repair to Departmental and Company standards.
  • To identify and order, when necessary, the required materials for Hire and Service repairs and be able to quote customer if required.
  • Keep up to date with all franchise diagnostic software where applicable.
  • Ensure work is carried out in a timely manner.
  • Set up and operate equipment following manufacturers' guidelines and/or procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of works undertaken including job tickets, timesheets and service records in all formats.
  • Clock on and off all jobs as to keep an accurate record of work done daily.
  • Where applicable carry out pre-delivery inspections for equipment.
  • Workshop tidiness is essential; work bay must be always kept clean and tidy.
  • Follow MIS health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a clean and workable condition.
  • Ensure the general security of tools, plant and equipment and of workshop areas.
  • May be required to carry out additional tasks relevant to your role.
  • Will be required to work at other branches when needed.
  • Respond to Emergency Call outs during working hours.
  • Responsible for any assigned vehicle's maintenance checks daily, reporting defects or similar to the line manager as soon as possible.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone practical, reliable and proud of the work they do. You'll ideally have:

  • Vocational qualification, e.g., HND/HNC, City Guilds and/or SVQ Level 2/3 in relevant subject (or equivalent).
  • Experience in 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines, lawnmowers, Ground Care, Professional golf equipment and Quad bikes etc. preferred.
  • Good mechanical and electrical knowledge and understanding.
  • Full Valid Driving License.
  • IT Literate and have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Responding to new pressures, adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.
