At MacGregor Industrial Supplies, weβre continuing to grow β and weβre looking for a passionate, driven, high-work-ethic Key Account Manager to deliver profitable sales growth across the North and West region, focused on Public Sector, Construction and Renewables customers. This is a high-impact, field-based role for someone who brings energy, ownership and pace, someone who follows through, opens doors, builds trusted relationships, and turns opportunity into results. Working closely with our Internal Sales team based in Inverness to deliver a joined-up, high-quality customer experience.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of regional account growth by strengthening existing customer relationships, opening new opportunities, and improving commercial performance. Working closely with branches, suppliers, marketing, and sales teams, youβll turn strategy into action and ensure our value proposition is clear and compelling. You will work day-to-day with our Inverness-based Internal Sales team to ensure strong coordination, consistent follow-up, smooth handovers, and excellent customer service across all touchpoints.

Sales Growth & Business Development
- Develop and deliver regional sales and profitability plans
- Drive achievement of sales and margin targets
- Grow share of wallet within Public Sector, Construction and Renewables accounts
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities
- Attend customer meetings and site visits
- Lead pricing and commercial opportunity reviews
- Share market insight and customer feedback with internal teams
- Work with Marketing to support targeted sector campaigns
- Represent the business at sector trade shows and events
- Conduct regular branch visits to drive engagement and performance
Key Account & Territory Management
- Manage and grow key accounts across your territory
- Build long-term relationships with decision-makers
- Prepare and progress quotations and proposals
- Track leads and opportunities through to close
- Maintain accurate CRM and account records
- Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally
- Plan and prioritise activity to maximise revenue and margin
- Work closely with the Inverness Internal Sales team on quotations, follow-ups, and account activity to maximise conversion and retention.
Public Sector & Framework Accounts
- Manage public sector and framework customers and contracts
- Monitor tender opportunities and support submissions
- Build relationships with procurement stakeholders
- Ensure delivery and compliance with contract requirements
- Develop new framework and sector opportunities
Success Measures
- Delivery of quarterly and annual sales & margin targets
- Growth across Public Sector, Construction and Renewables accounts
- Key account retention and expansion
- Framework and contract growth
- Strong pipeline and CRM discipline
Proven experience in key account management or external B2B sales. Experience selling into Public Sector, Construction or Renewables markets is highly desirable. High levels of personal drive, ownership and work ethic. Self-motivated and results-focused. Strong commercial and negotiation skills. Resilient, proactive and opportunity-focused. Highly organised with strong follow-through. Good IT skills including CRM and Office tools. Full UK driving licence required.
