The Warehouse Operative will provide a vital service alongside the delivery and showroom staff and will be responsible for receiving, checking and verifying deliveries as well as storing, controlling and ensuring the security of stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Offload materials from suppliers, either manually or by using a fork lift truck.
- Ensure all delivery notes are checked against delivered stock and report any discrepancies.
- Enter details of delivered, issued and returned stock onto the warehouse computer system, maintaining an up to date record at all times.
- Responsible for maintaining stock levels and security of stock.
- Ensure that all stock is coded and stored as appropriate.
- Replenish stock bins as necessary.
- Ensure that the warehouse area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Assist with regular stock checks.
- Provide support to other team members in the Branch as required.
Skills & Experience
- Ideally will have some direct warehousing/goods in experience.
- Must have a forklift operator license.
- Have a full and valid UK driving license.
- Have reasonable numeracy and literacy skills.
- Be capable of using a computerised warehouse system.
- Able to work in an efficient, methodical and logical manner.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision.
