Our Client is a market leader in the International Logistics Industry.

The Role

  • You will ultimately have responsibility to ensure the commercial success of your Branch and as such will be required to bring on board new business, so will need to have strong sales skills and flair; targets will be set.
  • The initial six months of your employment this would be your main area of focus and a weighting of 60% on your KPIs aligned with the commercial growth of the branch.
  • Meet and exceed the turnover and profitability of the branch according to budgets set.
  • Oversee efficient daily operation of the branch.
  • Manage all reporting staff to enable them to carry out their job description.
  • Ensure the welfare of our Staff, Contractors and the public who interact with us by ensuring a safe legally compliant workplace.
  • Ensure that best practice work methods are used to maximise the efficiency of the operation while following all H&S requirements.
  • Manage the cost centre for the branch, negotiating contracts and validating charges before working with the accounts team within head office to provide accurate financial information.
  • Arrange monthly appointments with existing and potential customers to grow both volume and profitability.
  • Assist with other Ad-hoc duties as and when required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Sustainable growth of the Revenue and profitability aligned with budgets.
  • Ensure the following daily tasks have been completed within your branch by your team:
    • All jobs are keyed into the same day system.
    • Allocated jobs within a reasonable time frame.
    • Getting quotes for Ad-hoc jobs.
    • Ensuring all suppliers invoices have been checked and invoiced correctly on System.
    • Update and maintain a record of all expenditure, ensuring the branch aligns with the budget.
    • Overseeing vehicle checks and maintenance.
    • Handling Sales and invoice queries.
    • Checking drivers’ invoices and submitting to Head Office for payment.
    • Overseeing credit control ledgers for Sameday and Overnights.
    • KPI reports completion for major accounts.
    • Conducting suppliers’ checks.
    • Maintaining stock warehouse (500 parts).
    • Ensuring a branch support is in place 24/7 for emergencies.
    • Update service level reports.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of revenue growth achieved and net profit growth year-on-year.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages.
  • Logistics industry knowledge is highly advantageous.
  • Experience of being in front of customers and new prospects on a daily basis.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Looking for a self-motivated person who works well as part of a team with excellent attention to detail and an entrepreneurial or sales background.
