They are seeking an experienced National Transport Manager based in East Midlands with remote management of 2 other sites.
Must have multi-drop experience and hold a CPC .
You will manage the overall performance of your team and take overall responsibility for all aspects of the transport operation at your sites to ensure an efficient, legal and smooth operation, achieving service levels within time and budgetary constraints, creating a ‘best in class’ transport operation.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, manage and control all areas of the transport operation and costs
- Set, agree and manage objectives and KPI's with direct reports to achieve a ‘best in class’ transport operation.
- Manage all assets and activities within the scope of the transport operation through clearly communicated processes and KPI’s to achieve contractual requirements to meet customer’s needs.
- Measure and review performance against Company and customer KPI’s and implement appropriate actions to seek continuous improvement.
- Ensure planning is communicated effectively and delivered across the sites to agreed client KPI’s.
- Manage vehicle maintenance in accordance with legislation and company policies.
Knowledge and Competencies Required
- Experience of operating at Transport Manager Level.
- Demonstrable up to date knowledge of Working Time Regulations/legislative requirements.
- Strong personal drive and resilience.
- Ability to transfer previous learning into new environments.
- Proactive approach to management of resources and issues.
- Customer focused with a proven record of meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Accountable and can stand by decisions with a track record of ‘delivering what is promised’.
- Demonstrates a methodical approach to problem solving and implementing projects to tight deadlines.
- A forward thinker with the ability to anticipate changes in customer needs and provides value added solutions.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
