Womenswear Designer

Are you a creative yet technical designer with an eye for detail and innovation?

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a Leading Sports and Lifestyle Brand on the search for a Womenswear Designer, based in Hampshire.

This is a hands-on design role, responsible for leading the development of womenswear collections, ensuring they are innovative, functional, and aligned with brand DNA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full design process for assigned categories, from concept through to production.
  • Collaborate with Design, Buying, Merchandising, and Technical teams to ensure collections are cohesive and delivered to critical path.
  • Mentor junior designers, providing feedback and driving innovation across the category.
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform seasonal direction.
  • Develop and present design concepts, technical specs, and prototypes.
  • Ensure design execution meets brand standards, quality, and performance requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, fabrics, and performance technologies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven apparel design experience, ideally with technical or performance wear.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative yet functional designs.
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and performance technology.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior designers.
