Macgregor Black are partnering with a market leading DIY/ hardware Business, on the search for an Warehouse Manager. This is a full-time position which is permanent, based in the Midlands.
As Warehouse Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day operations across the warehouse and manufacturing facility, ensuring seamless coordination between warehousing, logistics, production, and supply chain functions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence — leading teams, optimising processes, and delivering results across goods in/out, inventory control, and production. This role calls for a hands‑on leader who can balance strategic oversight with practical problem‑solving, fostering efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee management of warehouse operations, including goods in/out, inventory control, and storage efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and operations staff to drive performance and maintain a positive working environment.
- Collaborate with the Buying Team to ensure accurate stock levels, timely procurement, and efficient order fulfilment.
- Work with Sales Team to ensure that national account orders are processed according to customer requirements and despatched in timely manner.
- Implement and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency, health & safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process optimisation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety, environmental and legal regulations.
- Play a key role in strategic planning and operational development as the business continues to grow.
What We\’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a similar operations leadership role, ideally within warehousing, logistics, or light manufacturing.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach.
- Good understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (preferably Microsoft Business Central/NAV) and lean operational principles.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience working cross‑functionally with procurement or buying teams.
- A proactive, can‑do attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering results.
- Full UK driving licence.
