We're looking for a
Managing Consultant to lead and develop a team of consultants and researchers while running a full 360 desk within your specialist category.
You'll build strong relationships with clients and candidates, drive new business and repeat opportunities, and coach your team day-to-day, setting clear targets and leading by example.
Genuine care for team development, resilience, and a proven recruitment background are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Attract, retain and develop a team of consultants and researchers
- Build and develop a database of clients, candidates, and contacts within your chosen category
- Regularly communicate with key decision makers driving a wide range of business development activities
- Be the expert within your chosen area, by further developing your knowledge, reputation, and abilities to deliver service excellence
- Ensure a regular flow of repeat business and cross selling opportunities for your team and the wider business.
- Ensure a consistent and thorough level of database integrity
- Agree and deliver consistent sales and activity targets, to develop a pipeline of future business
- Mentor, coach or support other colleagues in their daily activities as a senior member of the team
- Set annual financial targets, for both yourself and the team
- Set weekly activity levels, ensuring strong pipelines of business
- Conduct on-going coaching sessions with all team members
- Lead by example on a daily basis, taking the team with you on your journey of success
- Keep a constant lookout for new, high potential talent
- To manage the existent database of candidates, by conducting status up-date calls
- Source new candidates through advertising, headhunting and referrals
- Build and develop your relationships with key decision makers
- Follow the MB business development model, varying activity to generate new leads
- Continue to be the industry expert by researching, reading and writing relevant subject matter
- Manage end-to-end recruitment process (360 model)
- Cross sell at every opportunity, with all appropriate colleagues
- Ensure all information is saved on the database at all times
What We're Looking For
- Personality traits need to show empathy, diplomacy and tact, composure, understating and care. A selfless commitment to further develop and enhance your teams progression.
- Experience in either having managed people already, or have delivered a mentoring type role
- Experience in a target driven sales environment
- Proven track record of success in a business development or account management role
- Experience of operating from a CRM system, database integrity & management
- Excellent listening, communication, presenting and customer service skills
- Strong organisation, time management skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines
- Highly ambitious and resilient individual, with competitive drive
- Able to self-manage and motivate
- Aspirational to work in a true meritocracy with the ability to influence and control your own up-capped earning potential
- Degree-qualified or equivalent
- Ability to negotiate with external stakeholders & decision makers
