MacGregor Black is supporting a well-established FMCG business in the appointment of a Head of Warehouse Operations to oversee its warehouse and distribution function in the Rugby area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operational leader who can bring fresh ideas, strengthen performance and create a culture where people and processes deliver outstanding results.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for the overall performance of the operation, ensuring warehouse and logistics activities run efficiently, safely and in line with business objectives.
Key responsibilities will include
- Take full responsibility for warehouse operations, logistics and distribution performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs and streamline processes.
- Drive service levels, ensuring customers receive the right products at the right time.
- Maintain effective stock management and ensure product quality is protected throughout the operation.
- Build, lead and develop a motivated team, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee transport activities and manage relationships with external logistics providers.
- Ensure all operational procedures meet food safety, health and safety and regulatory requirements.
- Use performance data and KPIs to identify improvements and drive operational success.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with individuals who have:
- At least 5 years' experience managing warehouse operations within food, beverage or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of distribution, warehousing and transport management.
- Demonstrable success leading teams and improving operational performance.
- Experience working with external transport companies and third-party logistics providers.
- A solid understanding of food safety legislation and compliance.
- Excellent commercial awareness, communication and decision‑making skills.
- Confidence using WMS platforms and Microsoft Office.
- The ability to remain hands‑on, focused and decisive in a high‑pressure environment.
