Do you want to work for a vastly growing stationery/educational toy supplier? Macgregor Black are partnering with a growing educational supplier on the search for a Quality & Compliance Manager. This is a Hybrid role based in Leicester.
As the Quality & Compliance Manager, you’ll be the internal lead for all product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance activities across a broad portfolio of toys and licensed items. From managing product testing and packaging approvals to working directly with external labs, licensors, and suppliers, this role covers the full compliance lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Own the compliance process for all products, ensuring adherence to UK and EU toy safety legislation, including EN71, REACH, CE, UKCA, and relevant packaging regulations.
- Manage relationships with third-party testing labs and certification bodies; coordinate all product testing schedules and approvals.
- Review and maintain technical documentation such as Declarations of Conformity, risk assessments, and safety data sheets.
- Oversee packaging compliance across multiple territories, ensuring accuracy of warnings, age grading, and required legal markings.
- Work closely with product development, buying, and supply chain teams to embed compliance into the product lifecycle from concept to shelf.
- Lead quality control and assurance processes, including product inspections and corrective action plans with suppliers.
- Stay up to date with evolving legislation and act as the subject matter expert on all compliance and product safety matters.
- Support audit processes, liaise with licensors on compliance approvals, and ensure products meet all commercial and legal launch criteria.
- Significant experience in product compliance or quality assurance within the toy industry (essential).
- In-depth knowledge of relevant toy safety standards and compliance frameworks across UK and EU markets.
- Familiar with technical files, testing protocols, lab procedures, and safety documentation for toys and children’s products.
- Understanding of packaging regulations including labelling, age grading, warning statements, and sustainable packaging practices.
- Comfortable leading compliance conversations both internally and with external stakeholders including licensors, retailers, and suppliers.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across global product lines.
