Procurement Category Manager.
This is a perm role based in the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the focal point of Procurement within your category and demonstrate subject matter expertise alongside strong functional leadership, managing the procurement process.
- Develop and maintain business wide end to end spend process and governance through appropriate policy and procedural controls.
- Collaborate across the business to develop purchasing systems and business process, understand individual departmental needs.
- Represent the business in contract negotiations, creating robust contracts and protecting the interests of the organisation.
- Manage supplier relationships, focussing on key suppliers to maintain open dialogue and develop strong relationships.
- Identify supply weaknesses and deviations in economic conditions and protect supply with contingency.
- Drive cost control and cost saving opportunities, reporting on spend across all categories.
- Review all current suppliers for suitability and develop an approved suppliers list.
What We're Looking For
- CIPs qualification desirable
- Experience managing packaging, ingredients, raw materials, food manufacturing, FMCG or similar supply categories
- Strong procurement or category experience, ideally in direct spend
- Strong people management & development background
- Strong organisational skills
- Results driven
- Strong collaboration culture
