Mac Gregor Black is currently partnering with a leading British outdoor apparel brand on the search for a
Head of Marketing.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead the marketing function and take ownership of the brand strategy, marketing calendar and customer communications across all channels.
Working closely with Product, Ecommerce, Retail and Commercial teams, you will develop integrated marketing campaigns that strengthen brand awareness, grow customer engagement and deliver commercial performance.
This is a pivotal leadership role for an ambitious marketer who can modernise a heritage brand while protecting the authenticity and values that have built a loyal customer following.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the overall marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with the wider business objectives and commercial growth plans.
- Lead the annual marketing calendar, delivering integrated campaigns across retail, ecommerce, social media, CRM, digital, print and brand communications.
- Own the development of product go-to-market strategies, ensuring consistent execution across all customer touchpoints.
- Drive customer acquisition, engagement and retention through contemporary digital marketing strategies and data-led decision making.
- Lead the creation of high-quality marketing assets across photography, video, catalogues, direct mail, website, email, packaging and retail POS.
- Ensure all marketing communications maintain a consistent tone of voice, visual identity and premium brand presentation.
- Use customer insight, market trends and campaign performance to optimise marketing activity and identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage the marketing budget, ensuring investment delivers measurable commercial return and agreed KPIs.
- Develop strong relationships with external creative agencies, media partners, suppliers and PR contacts to maximise brand awareness and campaign effectiveness.
- Work closely with Product, Ecommerce, Retail and Finance to ensure marketing activity supports trading priorities and wider business objectives.
- Lead, develop and coach the marketing team, creating a collaborative, high-performing culture with clear accountability and development plans.
- Present marketing performance, strategic recommendations and future opportunities to the Managing Director and wider leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- Significant marketing leadership experience within premium consumer, outdoor, lifestyle, sports, apparel or retail brands.
- A proven track record of developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies across both physical and digital channels.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, CRM, customer acquisition, ecommerce and brand communications.
- Experience leading product launches and developing successful go-to-market strategies.
- Demonstrable experience managing marketing budgets and delivering measurable commercial outcomes.
- Strong people leadership experience, with the ability to develop, coach and inspire marketing teams.
- Experience managing creative agencies, media partners and external suppliers.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across multiple business functions.
- Commercially minded, data-driven and confident using insight to inform marketing decisions.
- A hands-on, proactive leadership style with the ability to balance strategic thinking and day-to-day execution.
