Are you a senior marketing leader with experience growing premium consumer brands? Do you know how to build brand equity while keeping close to commercial performance? Can you lead brand, campaign, digital, PR and customer activity in a way that feels connected, consistent and commercially sharp? MacGregor Black are partnering with a premium sporting goods brand on the search for a Marketing Director. The role is a full‑time role, based in Greater Manchester. This is a key leadership role for a business with strong foundations, clear ambition and a need for a senior marketing leader who can sharpen the proposition, elevate creative standards and drive growth across multiple customer touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall marketing strategy across brand, campaign, PR, partnerships, content and customer engagement.
  • Develop a clear, consistent brand narrative across all channels and customer touchpoints.
  • Own the annual marketing calendar, ensuring activity is joined up, commercially relevant and delivered to a high standard.
  • Improve creative quality and campaign execution across digital, retail, social, PR and external channels.
  • Deliver product, seasonal and brand campaigns that support awareness, engagement and conversion.
  • Work closely with senior commercial, digital, product and finance stakeholders to align marketing with wider business priorities.
  • Use data, customer insight and reporting to guide decision‑making and improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Lead, develop and shape the marketing team, ensuring the right structure, pace and accountability are in place.
  • Manage external agency and partner relationships to ensure strong creative delivery and commercial value.

What we’re looking for?

  • Proven experience operating at Marketing Director, Head of Marketing or senior marketing leadership level.
  • Background in a premium consumer, lifestyle, retail, D2C or omni‑channel brand.
  • Strong experience across brand strategy, campaign planning, PR, partnerships, digital and customer marketing.
  • Track record of improving brand perception while supporting commercial growth.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to connect marketing activity to revenue, margin and customer performance.
  • Confident using data, insight and reporting to shape priorities and measure impact.
  • Experience leading teams, developing capability and improving marketing processes.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment where strategy and execution both matter.
