Financial Controller in Manchester

MacGregor Black is working with a privately owned consumer goods business to appoint a Financial Controller . The role is based in Manchester.
Operating across retail and wholesale channels the business is entering its next phase of development. They are seeking a Financial Controller with sharp commercial awareness who can embed robust financial control while actively supporting growth.
This is a role for someone who challenges constructively improves processes and acts as a trusted adviser to the business. There is a clear opportunity to progress into a senior finance leadership position as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the finance function across retail and wholesale operations with a strong emphasis on control governance and forward planning
Deliver high quality management reporting with insight that supports trading and strategic decisions
Drive budgeting forecasting and medium term planning aligned to commercial objectives
Take ownership of working capital with a hands on approach to inventory cash flow and supplier exposure
Partner closely with senior leadership to improve profitability margin performance and investment decisions
Act as the primary finance lead for banks advisors and external stakeholders
What We\’re Looking For:
Qualified accountant ACA ACCA or CIMA
Demonstrable experience in a senior finance role within a consumer retail or wholesale business
Highly commercially astute with the confidence to influence decisions and challenge assumptions
Naturally proactive with a strong problem solving mindset and a focus on continuous improvement in financial control
Strong understanding of international sourcing models including foreign manufacturing and foreign exchange exposure
Experience working with modern ERP systems with NetSuite exposure advantageous
Right to work in the UK
Salary – £60k to £70k depending on experience
