Are you a technically strong product developer who can own product from concept through to bulk with confidence? Do you know how to balance performance, quality and commercial constraints while protecting brand integrity? Can you partner across Design, Operations and Supply Chain to deliver product on time and to standard?
MacGregor Black is partnering with a high-growth performance sportswear brand on the search for a Senior Product Developer, based in London. This role owns technical product development across apparel and accessories, ensuring product quality, consistency and scalability as the brand continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead end-to-end product development across Jersey and Technical categories, from development to bulk production.
- Own fabric, trim, packaging and labelling sourcing aligned to product performance and brand standards.
- Build and manage supplier relationships across EU and Far East.
- Act as key contact for factories, providing clear feedback on samples, strike-offs and submissions.
- Create, maintain and own accurate specs and BOMs across all styles.
- Measure, fit and comment on samples from proto through to shipment, ensuring block and construction integrity.
- Own garment testing, wash care approval and wearer trial programmes.
- Build and manage critical paths across core and SMU collections.
- Maintain trackers and present progress within weekly critical path meetings.
- Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Partner with Operations on costing to ensure target margins are achieved.
- Resolve product issues and returns with long-term quality improvements.
- Create and maintain standardisation across grading, testing and quality standards.
- Manage and develop a Junior Product Developer.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Operations and Content teams.
- Proven experience within product development across sportswear or performance apparel.
- Strong technical understanding of fabric, trims, garment construction and engineering.
- Experience owning development and production critical paths end to end.
- Highly competent in fitting, grading and pattern interpretation.
- Experience managing testing, wearer trials and compliance processes.
- Structured, detail-driven operator comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
- Confident communicator with experience managing factory and supplier relationships.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and categories.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office. 3D software is a plus.
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership mentality.
