Are you performance-focused, always looking to improve and add value to people and process? MacGregor Black is partnering with an FMCG business on the search for a Logistics Director. This is a perm role based in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all logistics operations, including transport, fleet (in-house and 3PL), and national distribution centres.
  • Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with business growth and customer service objectives.
  • Oversee relationships and performance of 3PL partners, ensuring service levels, cost control, and contractual compliance.
  • Optimise distribution network efficiency, including routing, warehousing, and last-mile delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations, leveraging data and technology.
  • Ensure high levels of service delivery to stores across a large retail network, maintaining availability and timeliness.
  • Manage logistics budgets, cost controls, and financial performance, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing logistics team across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all UK transport, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with retail, supply chain, merchandising, and e-commerce teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior logistics leadership role within a large-scale UK retail environment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing both in-house fleet operations and 3PL providers.
  • Strong understanding of national distribution centre operations and multi-site logistics networks.
  • Track record of servicing a large and complex retail store network.
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing significant budgets.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using logistics systems and performance metrics.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Knowledge of UK logistics regulations and compliance requirements.
