Are you an experienced logistics leader within retail or wholesale? Do you have a proven track record of developing robust supply chain operations to be best in class? MacGregor Black is partnering with an FMCG business on the search for a Head of Logistics. This is a perm role based in London.
- Lead and manage all logistics operations, including transport, fleet (in-house and 3PL), and national distribution centres.
- Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with business growth and customer service objectives.
- Oversee relationships and performance of 3PL partners, ensuring service levels, cost control, and contractual compliance.
- Optimise distribution network efficiency, including routing, warehousing, and last-mile delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations, leveraging data and technology.
- Ensure high levels of service delivery to stores across a large retail network, maintaining availability and timeliness.
- Manage logistics budgets, cost controls, and financial performance, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing logistics team across multiple locations.
- Ensure compliance with all UK transport, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with retail, supply chain, merchandising, and e-commerce teams.
Proven experience in a senior logistics leadership role within a large-scale UK retail environment. Demonstrable experience managing both in-house fleet operations and 3PL providers. Strong understanding of national distribution centre operations and multi-site logistics networks. Track record of servicing a large and complex retail store network. Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing significant budgets. Data-driven mindset with experience using logistics systems and performance metrics. Knowledge of UK logistics regulations and compliance requirements.
