MacGregor Black is partnering with a globally recognised, values‑led consumer brand to recruit a Director Global E‑Commerce & Marketplaces. This is a permanent role with global scope, offering a rare opportunity to shape and build a future‑proof eCommerce and marketplace organisation at enterprise level.
The Director Global E‑Commerce & Marketplaces will take end‑to‑end ownership of the brand’s global eCommerce agenda, spanning direct‑to‑consumer (D2C) and international marketplace operations. Reporting directly into the Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, this role will lead the transformation from historically decentralised, locally managed structures to a centrally governed, globally scalable model that supports long‑term international growth.
A critical early focus will be the design and rollout of a pan‑European Amazon setup, acting as the cornerstone for a broader, centrally steered global marketplace ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:- Define and own the global eCommerce and digital commerce strategy across D2C and marketplaces, aligned with the brand’s long‑term growth ambitions.
- Lead the transition from decentralised, locally managed eCommerce and marketplace operations to a centrally governed global model, embedding scalable processes, governance and performance standards.
- Architect, launch and scale a global marketplace ecosystem, with Amazon as a core strategic platform, including the delivery of a pan‑EU Amazon operating model.
- Lead and develop the central global eCommerce team, with a clear mandate to grow and scale capability over time. Provide functional leadership to local eCommerce leads across international subsidiaries, driving alignment and best practice.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, IT/Tech, Product, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure seamless execution of global eCommerce initiatives.
- Select, manage and develop relationships with technology, integration, platform and performance partners to support scalable global execution.
- Own key performance metrics including revenue growth, conversion, scalability, efficiency and overall digital performance across channels.
- Ensure a consistent, high‑performing and brand‑aligned digital and eCommerce experience across all markets and platforms.
- Extensive experience in senior eCommerce, digital or marketplace leadership roles (Director level or equivalent), ideally within international consumer brands.
- Proven track record of transforming decentralised eCommerce or marketplace organisations into centrally governed global models.
- Strong Amazon expertise with deep marketplace DNA and experience operating at scale.
- Background in complex, international organisations of comparable size and brand strength.
- Experience working with technology, platform and integration partners in global environments.
- Strategic, commercially minded leader with the ability to balance long‑term vision and hands‑on execution.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience across international, cross‑functional teams.
- Fluent English is essential; additional languages, including German, are advantageous but not required.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping a global eCommerce and marketplace transformation.
- Operate with high visibility, ownership and influence at executive level.
- Build and scale a globally integrated digital commerce organisation.
- Join a stable, values‑driven, international consumer business with a strong people‑first culture.
