MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a leading FMCG brand to recruit a Commercial Team Lead . This is a permanent, onsite role based in Oxfordshire, UK.
The Commercial Team Lead will play a pivotal role in delivering the company’s commercial and sales strategy. Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the successful candidate will lead and develop a team of Senior Commercial Managers, Commercial Managers, and Junior Commercial Managers, driving exceptional results across supplier portfolios. This is an ideal opportunity for a dynamic commercial leader with proven experience in supplier negotiations, team leadership, and category growth.
Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Commercial Managers, Commercial Managers, and Junior Commercial Managers.
Take ownership of a supplier portfolio, delivering against sales and profitability targets.
Create and execute strategic business plans in partnership with suppliers and customers to unlock growth opportunities.
Negotiate supplier terms to deliver competitive pricing, recover costs on residual/overstocked inventory, and optimise profitability.
Improve cash flow by managing and reducing aged/disputed supplier debt.
Provide customers with tailored product ranges and promotions using a category management approach.
Represent the business at external meetings, events, and networking opportunities to strengthen relationships with suppliers and customers.
Establish and maintain clear communication channels across internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice for medicines and medical devices.
Drive efficiency and proactively resolve challenges with a solutions-focused approach.
Qualifications Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior commercial role with proven leadership responsibility.
Strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent commercial acumen, with strong negotiation and influencing skills at all levels.
Proven ability to identify and deliver growth opportunities through supplier partnerships.
Strong numerical accuracy, analytical capability, and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong presentation skills.
Resilient, self-motivated, and adaptable to change.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal.
