Junior HR Business Partner

MacGregor Black are partnering with an FMCG manufacturing business looking for a Junior HR Business Partner. This is a perm on site role based in Wolverhampton.
We’re looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team in a role that blends operational HR with business partnering. Role offers the opportunity to influence and shape people practices at a fast-paced, growing site.
You’ll report directly to the HR Manager, who has responsibility for 2 sites within the business. Day-to-day, you’ll take a lead role in managing HR activities onsite, supporting and mentoring two HR Advisors, and stepping up in the Manager’s absence to ensure seamless HR operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex ER cases, providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Mentor, develop, and support two onsite HR Advisors, building their capability and confidence.
- Partner with site leadership, including a strong and engaged Site Director, to provide challenge, guidance, and influence when needed.
- Ensure HR practices and processes are consistent, effective, and aligned to business and legal requirements.
- Support the HR Manager in managing a site headcount of approx. 650 colleagues across production, engineering, and technical functions.
- Lead on initiatives that improve employee engagement, workforce planning, and site performance.
- Provide confident leadership in a busy, sometimes ambiguous environment, ensuring HR adds value to the operation.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has strong HR generalist experience, ideally within a manufacturing, FMCG, or fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrates significant employee relations expertise, with the ability to manage complex cases and escalate appropriately.
- Can show authority and resilience when working with senior stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge and push back where needed.
- Thrives in a busy, high-volume environment and can adapt to a site that is still establishing structure and processes.
- Enjoys mentoring and developing others, with some leadership experience.
