Junior Bid Manager – Foodservice

MacGregor Black is partnering with a market-leading national wholesale business to appoint Contract Bid Executive / Junior Bid Manager. This is a permanent, on‑site role based in Scotland, ideally suited to someone in the North of England who’s looking for that first real step up in responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and lead the preparation and submission of tender proposals for key Foodservice customers.
• Work closely with the Management team to identify, track, and prioritise future business opportunities.
• Maintain and continually improve a professional library of contractual and bid‑related documents.
• Help drive a consistent, well‑structured bid process so that tenders are delivered on time, every time.
• Act as a point of contact for customers when the Contract Management team is unavailable, ensuring a professional, joined‑up experience.
• Help maximise opportunities through existing framework agreements by spotting upsell and cross‑sell potential.
• Collaborate with trading and commercial teams to build tailored product ranges that meet specific customer needs.
• Build and maintain regional opportunity trackers to support proactive business development.

What We\’re Looking For

• Experience in Foodservice, wholesale, or retail – ideally in a commercial, contracts, or bids/tenders environment.
• Some exposure to the tender or proposal process – for example, supporting bid submissions, pricing, or documentation.
• Strong communication skills – you’re comfortable working with different stakeholders and presenting ideas clearly.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at the same time.
• Confidence working with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office to analyse data and build clear, compelling documents.
• A proactive mindset – you like to improve processes, not just follow them.
