MacGregor Black are partnering with a Global Manufacturing FMCG business on the search for an Interim HR Business Partner. This role is based in West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex ER cases, providing expert, pragmatic advice and ensuring compliance with company policy and employment law.
  • Mentor and develop two onsite HR Advisors, building their confidence and professional capability.
  • Partner with site leadership to influence people decisions, challenge constructively, and shape a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Ensure HR policies, processes, and practices are consistent, compliant, and commercially aligned.
  • Support the HR Manager with all aspects of HR delivery for a headcount of approximately 650 colleagues across a busy manufacturing site.
  • Lead or contribute to initiatives that drive employee engagement, talent development, workforce planning, and retention.
  • Provide credible HR leadership in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment, ensuring HR delivers real business value.

  • Bring broad HR generalist experience, ideally from a manufacturing, FMCG, or fast-moving operational setting.
  • Have strong employee relations expertise, able to manage complex cases with confidence and balance.
  • Demonstrate credibility and resilience when partnering with senior stakeholders — comfortable challenging, influencing, and shaping decisions.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment, where structure and processes are evolving.
  • Enjoy developing others, with proven experience supporting or leading a small HR team.
