MacGregor Black is partnering with a leading FMCG manufacturing business on the search for an Engineering Technician. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Milton Keynes, operating on a continental shift pattern, within a highly automated production environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with engineering schedules, recommending improvements where efficiencies can be maximised.
- Diagnose faults and respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime across high-speed production lines.
- Support line performance through analysis of efficiency, waste, and downtime data, contributing to continuous improvement activity.
- Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and compliance, ensuring all work is carried out in line with site and legislative requirements.
- Produce clear and accurate engineering documentation, including downtime reports and line logbooks.
- Consult manufacturers’ manuals and mechanical drawings to identify correct replacement parts and support effective repairs.
- Support operational requirements by operating machinery when required to ensure efficient team working.
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline.
- Experience working in a multi-skilled engineering role within FMCG, food, beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environments (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, breakdown response, and planned maintenance processes.
- Exposure to continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies.
