MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading premium consumer goods business on the search for a Head of Ecommerce to join their team. The Head of E-commerce is responsible for leading and managing the e-commerce strategy and operations within the UK market, while holding global ownership for the global D2C platform and infrastructure. In addition, responsibility for how we continue to grow the marketplace channel, which includes Amazon and other current and potential marketplaces. This role ensures the success of the UK e-commerce business, driving online sales and enhancing the customer experience. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with global counterparts to ensure a consistent and scalable platform across all regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s digital strategy across D2C and marketplace platforms, with a focus on scaling existing sites, rolling out to additional markets or launching new sites.
- Accountable for the profitable delivery of Revenue, Traffic, Conversion, and AOV from all UK & EU D2C sites in line with company targets.
- Enhance the user experience on the websites for our portfolio of brands and marketplace platforms by improving SEO and UX/UI, site speed, mobile optimisation, and localised content.
- Utilise data and analytics to drive performance, optimise traffic, increase conversion rates, and improve customer retention across all regions.
- Partner with the marketing team to drive traffic and sales through performance marketing strategies such as PPC, email marketing and social media, ensuring efforts are aligned with market specific goals.
- Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product management, and supply chain, to ensure smooth execution of product launches and digital marketing strategies for successful product launches, brand awareness and driving sales.
- Driving the UK marketplace strategy and proposition by developing market knowledge, product ranging, pricing, user experience.
- Lead and develop a high-performing ecommerce team, ensuring the structure and talent are in place to support business growth across all online channels.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing cross-functional e-commerce team across trading, merchandising, digital marketing, CRM, content, analytics, and customer experience.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations, conducting regular reviews and supporting continuous professional development.
- Recruit, retain, and develop talent, building scalable team structures aligned with business growth objectives.
- Mentor team members, understanding capability and implementing succession planning across the function.
