  • Marketing Controller . This is a permanent role based in

Ealing.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Controller will provide senior leadership across wholesale, trade and digital marketing activity.

Acting as the Head of Marketing’s second-in-command, you will translate commercial and trading priorities into integrated marketing plans that drive customer engagement, supplier investment and measurable sales growth.

This is a broad leadership role requiring someone who can balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery.

You will oversee campaign performance across multiple channels, develop the marketing team and help embed a more commercial, data-led approach across the function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of integrated wholesale and trade marketing plans across digital, e-commerce and offline channels.
  • Align marketing activity with commercial priorities, trading plans, customer needs and wider business objectives.
  • Develop commercially focused campaigns that drive sales, customer acquisition, retention and engagement.
  • Provide senior oversight of digital marketing, e-commerce campaigns and performance optimisation.
  • Maximise supplier-funded marketing revenue and ensure investment is converted into effective, measurable activity.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, trading teams and commercial stakeholders to develop joint marketing programmes.
  • Use customer, campaign and commercial data to improve targeting, effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Establish clear performance measures and reporting frameworks across marketing activity.
  • Lead, coach and develop teams across wholesale and digital marketing.
  • Improve marketing processes, capability and ways of working across the function.
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Marketing and support wider transformation and growth initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant senior marketing experience within wholesale, retail, convenience, FMCG or another complex multi-channel environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering commercially driven marketing programmes linked to sales and revenue growth.
  • Strong experience across trade marketing, customer marketing or supplier-funded marketing.
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing, e-commerce and performance-led campaign activity.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect marketing investment with measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience using customer data, analytics and insight to inform marketing decisions.
  • The ability to influence senior commercial, trading and supplier stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience leading, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic and delivery-focused leadership style.
  • The confidence and capability to deputise for a senior marketing leader.
