MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a leading hardware business in the search for a Marketplace Manager. This is a permanent, remote position based in the UK. We are looking for a Marketplace Manager to take responsibility for the trading performance of our partners' products across our websites and marketplaces. This role plays a key part in delivering revenue, margin, and stock targets, ensuring our sites are always set up to win through best-in-class merchandising, promotions, and conversion optimisation.
Key Responsibilities- Own daily, weekly, and monthly online trading performance across UK & Ireland websites and marketplaces, delivering against revenue, margin, conversion, and basket size targets.
- Build, maintain, and execute the online trading calendar aligned to seasonal moments, product launches, and promotional events.
- Monitor, forecast, and react to trading performance, implementing rapid commercial actions where required.
- Optimise onsite merchandising including category hierarchy, navigation, product sequencing, filters, and facets to improve discoverability and conversion.
- Lead onsite search optimisation, managing synonyms, ranking rules, and zero-result queries.
- Plan and execute promotions and markdowns in partnership with Buying and Merchandising teams, ensuring price integrity and margin protection.
- Coordinate and QA onsite promotional messaging, banners, and content assets pre- and post-launch.
- Trade bestsellers, newness, and long-tail SKUs, ensuring strong availability in winning lines and clear exit strategies for slow movers.
- Manage stock availability rules, out-of-stock visibility, and back-in-stock workflows to reduce customer drop-off.
- Brief, review, and QA homepage, category, and PDP content, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and SEO best practices.
- Own core trading KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, AOV, RPV, add-to-bag rate, checkout funnel performance, returns rate, and onsite search metrics.
- Deliver clear weekly and monthly trading reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Digital Marketing, Buying, Creative, Operations, and Customer Care teams to optimise performance and customer experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience in e-commerce trading, online merchandising, or digital commercial roles.
- Proven ability to drive sales and margin growth through onsite trading and conversion rate optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify / Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, or similar.
- Experience trading on online marketplaces such as Amazon, B&Q, Tesco, Shein, or similar.
- Strong understanding of onsite merchandising tools, onsite search, and analytics platforms including GA4.
- Experience using A/B testing tools and applying a test-and-learn mindset.
- Solid understanding of basic SEO for e-commerce and paid traffic performance drivers.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear commercial actions.
- High attention to detail with strong execution and QA standards.
- Commercially driven, organised, proactive, and comfortable working to fast-paced weekly trading rhythms.
