MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading Consumer Goods brand, on the search for a Country Manager – UK & Ireland. This is a permanent position reporting directly to the Managing Director Europe.
As Country Manager, you will be responsible for driving sustainable growth and profitability across the UK and Ireland. You’ll lead a dynamic sales team, develop strong retailer and distributor partnerships, and execute integrated go-to-market strategies that align with brand objectives. This is a pivotal role for a strategic, results-oriented commercial leader with excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share and revenue across the UK and Ireland
- Identify emerging retail trends, new customer segments, and growth opportunities
- Establish and strengthen partnerships with key retailers, garden centres, specialty stores, distributors, and e-commerce platforms
- Negotiate annual terms, joint business plans, and commercial agreements to drive profitability
- Plan and execute integrated trade marketing and brand activation campaigns to maximize visibility
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing national sales team, fostering accountability and collaboration
- Manage sales budgets, forecasts, and reporting to ensure delivery of financial targets
- Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Product teams to align commercial and operational objectives
- Monitor market and competitor performance, providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations
- Represent the UK business within the European leadership team, ensuring consistency and alignment across markets
What We’re Looking For:
- 7–10 years’ proven experience in sales leadership within consumer durable goods
- Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding revenue targets and growing market share
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the UK retail and distribution landscape
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and team management experience, able to motivate and inspire performance
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategy
- Entrepreneurial, adaptable, and hands-on, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics (ERP) preferred
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK (up to 80%) and occasionally internationally
