Are you confident using shopper, customer and range-led data to support customer discussions and commercial decision making? Do you thrive on building clear, compelling stories from data to drive category growth with retailers?
MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading consumer goods business to recruit a Category Executive. This role plays a critical part in supporting the commercial agenda through best-in-class category insight, performance analysis and data-led recommendations.
As Category Executive, you will act as a key link between Category, Sales and Marketing, translating shopper, customer and range-led data into actionable insight. You will help shape commercial outcomes across the business and with retail partners by bringing clarity, personality and narrative to data. This is a permanent, hybrid role based in South West London (3 days per week in the office).
Key Responsibilities:- Own and interpret market share and category performance data, using Nielsen and EPOS to identify trends, opportunities and risks across brand and category.
- Partner closely with the Sales team to support customer reviews, range discussions and commercial recommendations with clear, insight-led outputs.
- Analyse customer and shopper data to deliver regular performance updates to Sales and Marketing teams.
- Support pricing architecture, planograms and range reviews, ensuring decisions are commercially robust and shopper-centric.
- Build compelling, story-led presentations that translate complex data into clear recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate promotional and distribution performance, providing recommendations to optimise future execution.
- Track performance post-implementation and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across Sales, Marketing and wider commercial teams.
- Experience in a Category, Commercial, Sales Analytics or Insight-focused role within the consumer goods sector.
- Strong hands-on experience working with Nielsen and/or EPOS data to inform commercial decisions.
- A naturally commercial mindset, with a desire to support customer conversations through insight rather than reporting alone.
- Confidence working with large data sets and translating them into clear, engaging stories.
- Exposure to pricing, promotions, range planning or planograms would be advantageous.
- A proactive, curious individual who enjoys collaboration and wants to build influence over time.
- Ambition to develop a long-term commercial career grounded in data, shopper understanding and retailer partnership.
