We are looking for a Social Media and Digital Marketing Assistant to join our friendly Marketing and Business Development team on a six-month contract, providing support while the team works on a major project.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the firm to produce written and visual content, monitor firm-owned social media channels, escalate reputational issues, action campaigns, and report on digital channel analytics. They will be passionate about all things social, and while this will be the main focus of the role, they will also work across the full digital marketing spectrum, including email, website and marketing analytics. With mentoring from our digital marketing manager, they will manage the day-to-day running of the firm's social media platforms creating and scheduling content, and tracking and analysing performance.
We are looking for someone who is full of ideas, with strong commercial acumen to exercise sound judgement. This role requires excellent attention to detail, effective communication, and a collaborative can-do attitude. Strong organisation and time management skills are essential.
Duties will include:
- Create and curate engaging content (mainly in Canva and Hootsuite) in the firm's tone of voice across our social media platforms, including but not limited to, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X, to increase engagement, interaction, and brand profile;
- Manage the firm's social media editorial schedule and publish content across our social media platforms using Hootsuite;
- Collaborate with key stakeholders/content owners to mitigate risk and ensure proper governance/approvals for social posts;
- Maintain an ongoing dialogue with various internal stakeholders to effectively communicate the firm's business and cultural messages;
- Monitor all social media platforms, engaging with followers and preparing responses to comments, messages, and enquiries in a timely and professional manner;
- Track and analyse digital channel performance metrics and provide regular reports and recommendations to the marketing team;
- Assist with the upkeep and content editing of the website;
- Monitor the website inbox and relay queries to the relevant internal person or team;
- Support the digital marketing manager with maintaining best practice around the firm's email marketing system (Vuture) to enhance business development efforts;
- Provide cover for creating and sending email campaigns from Vuture;
- Assist with the scheduling, production and distribution of podcasts.
This job description encompasses the main duties of the role and is by no means exhaustive. It is anticipated that duties may vary from time to time according to the needs of the department.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
- At least one year's experience working in a professional services environment (ideally) with shifting priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. While the role is well supported, it's important the individual is comfortable managing their own workload;
- Experience of developing and executing successful social media campaigns across organic and paid social;
- Experience managing editorial calendars across various social media platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram and X;
- Experience with social media monitoring and management tools for social listening, publishing, and reporting (i.e. Hootsuite, LinkedIn and Google Analytics, etc.);
- Passion for social media, PR and digital marketing and proven ability to exercise sensible reasoning in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong knowledge of the social media landscape and trends;
- Experience with email marketing and website content editing;
- Confidence to pitch fresh ideas, think creatively, and identify and solve problems;
- Proficiency with key business applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Zoom;
- Proven ability to work efficiently and consistently with accuracy and attention to detail;
- A team player with enthusiastic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit. Eager to learn, contribute, and make an impact.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience of creating and editing social media artwork in Canva;
- Familiarity with podcast recording and editing (all done via apps not physical mics).
