The Company GWP, one of the UK's leading packaging manufacturers, are looking for a Production Team Leader - Di-Cut to join our established team. You will become part of a business established for more than 30 years, with a strong history of producing sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging.
The Role The Di-Cut Team Leader role is well suited to an individual with experience in a manufacturing environment. With responsibility for a small team of operatives, the equipment in your area, housekeeping, efficiency of the processes and the quality of the products. You will be the point of communication between the production manager, planner and your team. Accuracy and efficiency are key to this role. You must be self-motivated and be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Due to the location of our site, ideally your own transport would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the highest example of Health and Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Commitment and Attendance
- You will be first report to crews running Bobst, Rabollini, Roller Press and Stripping area.
- Co-ordinating daily the allocation of your team to processes as required by the production schedule
- Ensure machinery is prepared at start of shift and shut down properly at the end of shift
- Deliver completion of tasks within agreed quality standards causing no delay to the overall process of delivery of product to our customers
- Attend daily production meetings to feedback progress and be aware of the daily schedule
- Identify and carry out improvement projects with the Production Manager for your area
- Tasked with continuously improving efficiencies/productivity in above areas and making sure daily requirements are achieved.
- Understanding of Spec information and process jobs as instructed.
- Ensure your team have materials and equipment they need to avoid unnecessary downtime
- Arranging of holiday cover and overtime as required to ensure continuous production in your area
- Operate equipment and train others as required.
About you If you have any or all of the following skills and experience, you will be a good fit for this position:
- Team leader or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of Flexographic print or corrugated case conversion very beneficial
- Positive attitude
- The ability to learn quickly and pick up new skills
- Strong leadership skills and be able to lead by example
- Fit and able to carry out physical work.
- Must be self-motivated to work on his/her own for part of the day
- Able to prioritise, multitask and problem solve effectively
- Experience on the following machines / areas could be advantageous: Bobst, Rabollini, Roller Press, Stripping Area
- Previous Team Leader experience
