The Internal Sales Executive Role Working as an integral part of our local team, your responsibilities and core duties shall include managing and developing a portfolio of existing local accounts, focusing on organic growth through line extensions and developing new business. You will proactively generate outbound activity to help develop customer spend and identify new opportunities. To assist with the above there will occasionally be the opportunity to attend customer site visits. This position offers hybrid working and targeted customer engagement. Internal Sales Executive Key Duties Conduct proactive sales calls to explore opportunities for new business, generating valuable sales leads. Undertake research, making outbound calls to identify & engage with prospective new customers Proactively develop existing accounts by identifying and seizing opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling across the product portfolio. Utilise CRM system (MS Dynamics) to diligently follow up on all new and existing sales leads, enquiries, and quotations. Take initiative to contact lapsed and underutilised accounts to promote the breadth of Macfarlane’s product and service offerings. Foster and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all packaging solutions, actively sharing insights and expertise with colleagues. Leading on account development activity to achieve up-sell/cross-sell opportunities Working closely with and supporting the external sales team Closely liaising with internal departments such as logistics and procurement What you will bring The successful candidate will ideally meet with the below criteria… To apply for this opportunity, you will ideally be able to demonstrate experience with the majority of the below… (Essential)… Minimum 12 months previous experience working within a similar targeted outbound B2B sales role (and able to demonstrate success having hit/exceeded targets) Strong and effective telephone manner, with a documented history of establishing rapport with customers to facilitate successful sales interactions. Previous experience in proactively engaging in outbound calling to existing customers for up-selling and cross-selling purposes. Proficient IT skills, including intermediate-level proficiency in Excel and prior experience with CRM systems for data management and analysis. Solid numerical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyse data accurately. (Desirable)… Previous experience providing sales support to external field-based colleagues, demonstrating collaborative teamwork and support. Prior use of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar CRM systems Experience working in a distribution-based environment, understanding the unique challenges and dynamics of this sector.
