The Role:

  • As our Procurement Manager, you’ll be a key member of the site leadership team, responsible for leading the local procurement function while aligning with our national strategy.
  • You’ll manage and develop a small team, take ownership of supplier performance, and remain hands‑on in commercial negotiations and key projects.
  • This is a highly visible role where your leadership, commercial judgement, and ability to drive efficiencies will directly influence site performance and customer outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the local procurement team, ensuring clear priorities and high performance.
  • Manage and evolve the supplier base to deliver best‑in‑class service, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and drive value through effective supplier engagement.
  • Ensure all purchasing activity is carried out in the most cost‑effective and efficient manner.
  • Take ownership of key performance metrics, including On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery.
  • Align local procurement activity with national strategy, collaborating closely with central teams.
  • Lead and support tender processes, product sourcing, and supplier selection.
  • Analyse data and produce reports to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Drive communication of procurement strategy across the site and wider stakeholder groups.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a procurement or buying role within a fast‑paced, commercial environment.
  • Previous experience managing or supervising a team (minimum 18 months).
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and challenge suppliers effectively.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen with a focus on cost, service, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and perform under pressure.
  • A proactive leadership style with a hands‑on approach.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous – support provided.
