HGV Class 2 Driver Location: Sudbury Sector: Packaging distribution (Palletised deliveries throughout East Anglia)

HGV Class 2 Driver – Key Duties
Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, completing delivery notes and documentation to maintain precise records of goods dispatched and received (most sites average up to 15 regional customer drops daily) Maintain company vehicles to high standards, conducting inspections, and reporting issues to the Logistics Manager/Supervisor. Perform routine maintenance like fuelling, cleaning, and minor repairs. Drive safely and courteously, following traffic laws and company policies to ensure the safety of all road users and transported goods. Use maps and directions effectively to plan efficient routes that optimise time and fuel, prioritising on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. Provide professional, courteous service to customers, addressing inquiries promptly and conveying relevant information back to colleagues to help facilitate smooth operations. Maintain accurate records, exercising good judgment in following regulatory and company procedures to avoid penalties. Foster collaboration across departments and Regional Distribution Centres to achieve shared goals and promote teamwork. Communicate with our sales team regarding potential new business opportunities observed during deliveries, including customer feedback and market insights. Ensure compliance with Ministry of Transport and other regulatory standards for commercial vehicle operation, keeping up to date on legal obligations and best practices. Report incidents, accidents, or license penalties to the Logistics Manager/Supervisor immediately and cooperate fully with investigations. Adhering to ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, enabling continuous quality and environmental improvements. Assist logistics operations as needed, including assisting in warehouse tasks and other duties as required to maintain smooth operations. Assess product condition before delivery, verifying suitability for transport and reporting any damages.
