Established in 2002, the Reflex Group is now the largest privately owned print and packaging company in the UK having grown to over 1000 employees across 22 sites in the UK and Europe. The company has an opportunity for an experienced Flexographic Printer at our site in Kilmarnock.

Location: Kilmarnock

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: Continental

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage flexographic printing machines such as a 10 colour narrow web servo-driven flexographic press.
  • Prepare the press for printing and troubleshoot any issues during printing.
  • Monitor printing processes of presses to maintain specified operating levels and detect malfunctions, adjusting as necessary.
  • Maintain inks and solvents according to types of material being printed and work order specifications.
  • Ensure all printing tasks are carried out to high standards and that the standards are maintained.
  • Operate and maintain production speeds on your shift and set times to targets, recording/reporting in areas where this is not possible.
  • Work constantly towards production improvements in methods, to eliminate potential quality problems and reduce downtime.
  • Liaise with the production manager to achieve best possible machine utilisation with minimum wastage, while ensuring excellent quality, at best possible delivery dates.
  • Work as part of a team supporting colleagues and sharing information.
  • Follow all aspects of Quality Control and Quality Assurance in the Print Department and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Ensure teamwork and maintain safe working systems to keep personnel free from injury and operations safe and efficient.
  • Ensure collaborative working within the Print Department via good communication.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in Flexographic Printing.
  • Experience meeting SEDEX and ETI Requirements (not essential).
  • Experience working within a team with a good standard of communication.
