Your Role: As an Internal Account Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in underpinning our sales success. You’ll be the first point of contact for customer accounts, ensuring smooth order progression and exceptional service. In this role, you will also focus on organic growth through line extensions and developing new business, proactively generating outbound activity to help develop customer spend and identify new opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing and developing a portfolio of existing accounts, effectively maintaining profitability.
- Making outbound calls to identify & engage with prospective new customers.
- Leading on account development activity to achieve up‑sell/cross‑sell opportunities.
- Working closely with and supporting the sales team.
- Supporting sales growth by managing and streamlining order progression and customer communications.
- Using our CRM system (MS Dynamics) to track leads, update customer records, and monitor sales activity.
- Proactively contacting lapsed or under‑utilised accounts to unlock opportunities for up‑selling and cross‑selling.
- Handling customer enquiries and processing orders with precision to maintain service excellence.
What We’re Looking For: You’ll be an organised and proactive professional with a knack for internal account management. We’re looking for someone who can keep the wheels turning and add value to our team by ensuring every customer interaction is top‑notch.
- Minimum 12 months previous experience working within a similar targeted outbound B2B sales role (and able to demonstrate success having hit/exceeded targets).
- Strong and effective telephone manner, with a documented history of establishing rapport with customers to facilitate successful sales interactions.
- Previous experience in proactively engaging in outbound calling to existing customers for up‑selling and cross‑selling purposes.
- Proficient IT skills, including intermediate‑level proficiency in Excel and prior experience with CRM systems for data management and analysis.
- Solid numerical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyse data accurately.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with a friendly, professional manner.
- Strong organisational abilities with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to multitask in a fast‑paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous).
