The Business Support Administrator plays an important role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day administrative processes across the business. Working closely with managers and colleagues across the site, you will support key activities including employee administration, time and attendance processes, training coordination and general office operations. This is a varied role that requires excellent organisation, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. The successful candidate will help ensure accurate records are maintained, employees receive timely support, and administrative processes run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and organised employee records and digital documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and data protection requirements
  • Support reporting and audit activities by maintaining reliable and well-structured data
  • Administer the time and attendance system, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked, absences and annual leave
  • Respond to employee and manager queries relating to timesheets, overtime and leave balances
  • Liaise with payroll to ensure information is provided accurately and on time for monthly processing
  • Coordinate administration across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation reviews, contractual changes and offboarding
  • Prepare employment documentation such as contracts, letters and onboarding materials using approved templates
  • Support new starters by coordinating system access, induction schedules and first-day arrangements
  • Organise internal and external training activities, including scheduling, communication and record-keeping
  • Maintain accurate training records and support managers with tracking training requirements
  • Manage company uniform and PPE requests, including ordering, stock monitoring and distribution
  • Raise purchase orders with suppliers and support employees with uniform-related queries
  • Provide general administrative support to managers, including meeting scheduling, document preparation and note taking when required
  • Assist with day-to-day office administration, including handling incoming phone calls and distributing post
