Warehouse Operative Location: Glenrothes

Salary: Competitive, plus benefits

Hours: Full-time 37.5hrs per week, Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

At Sorba Freeze, our chilled packaging offers innovative and cost-effective temperature-controlled packaging solutions. With growth planned, an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operator has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the team based in Glenrothes. This is a hands-on role that requires an individual with strong organisational and computer skills.

As Warehouse Operator (Manufacturing), you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the flow of materials and resources within our Sorba Freeze division. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that production schedules are met efficiently by dispatching materials and equipment to the appropriate location. You will work closely with other departments within the business to optimise operations and maintain smooth workflows. This is a full-time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

  • Dispatching Materials and Resources – Coordinate the timely delivery of materials based on production needs and priorities. Pick/pack a range of products for dispatch. Booking in/out stock.
  • Inventory Management – Monitor inventory levels of materials and finished products. Communicate as necessary to replenish stock as needed to prevent shortages or overages.
  • Documentation and Reporting – Maintaining accurate records of material movements, resource utilisation and production activities. Generating reports to track performance metrics, analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Problem Solving – Identify and address any issues that may arise in the manufacturing process. Working proactively to resolve challenges and ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Safety and Compliance – Ensure that all activities within the manufacturing site adhere to safety regulations and company policies. Strict adherence to BRC processes.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or logistics.
  • Valid Forklift (Counterbalance) licence (this is essential).
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in using IT systems including MS packages and Shipping Platforms.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a pro-active approach to addressing challenges.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S protocols and ability to follow them diligently.
