Responsibilities
- Manage all elements of the defined package, from design to delivery into service.
- Ensure all pre‑contract, contract governance, mobilisation, construction, delivery and handover sections are fully adhered to.
- Manage relevant subcontractor compliance.
- Promote and deliver a collaborative environment among team members, stakeholders, and the supply chain.
- Establish and maintain site organisation and facilitate effective communication between the employer’s representatives.
- Ensure all reports and information defined in the SWI documentation are issued within the stipulated timeframes, including providing the necessary package narrative for client reports.
- Lead all aspects of the programme and production control process associated with your package responsibility.
- Maintain the programme and, if slipping, advise the project lead promptly to trigger appropriate action.
- Participate in decisions affecting cost and programme, considering issues holistically for the overall project’s benefit.
- Assist in the preparation of all programmes, understanding critical‑path activities, system constraints, and interdependencies.
- Review and comment on all design information to ensure it is buildable and commissionable.
- Ensure all works undertaken on site are carried out safely.
- Conduct weekly health‑and‑safety tours and record all issues on Yellow Jacket.
- Ensure robust method statements and risk assessments are in place and approved prior to commencing any works.
- Lead all aspects of quality related to your package responsibility.
- Ensure each handover date or area completion is achieved snag‑free.
- Ensure works are completed on time and include snagging clearance.
Qualifications
- Trade/Technical Engineering apprenticeship or Graduate development programme.
- Formal Engineering training (HNC, HND, BTEC, or equivalent) with SMSTS and CSCS card. Relevant bachelor’s degree or Master of Engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering systems, including design standards, installation techniques, best practice, prefabrication and commissioning requirements.
- Proficient knowledge of construction build elements and sequencing to ensure coordination with other work packages.
- Proficient knowledge of planning processes, critical‑path, scheduling and commissioning activities to support programme control.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial management for a package, covering procurement, change control, programme impact, risk and mitigation, cost to complete and commercial forecasting.
- Advanced knowledge of health, safety & welfare core elements such as working from height, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics and lifting.
- Advanced knowledge of quality assurance, commissioning of single systems and integration of systems through BMS and IST.
- Project experience with diverse technical backgrounds and sectors.
- Proven track record delivering projects exceeding £25m+ MEP value.
- Experience in the relevant construction sector.
- Demonstrated successful project delivery and contribution.
- Proficiency in building services or a specified engineering discipline.
- Accreditation with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or SoPHE.
