Overview
Senior Project Controls (Baseline & Change) role at Mace. The project controls function acts as a centre of excellence, owning delivery performance information and enabling successful delivery of the SZC Project.
Background
Join our consult business, combining practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock potential on each project. This role supports the Sizewell C (SZC) project, a nuclear new-build in Suffolk, contributing to the UK’s climate change and energy policy objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and embedded PMO and Project Controls function within one Delivery Programme, ensuring timely, accurate cost data, forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, estimates to complete, and monthly ACWP reporting.
- Act as a centre of excellence for delivery performance information and enable successful project delivery for SZC.
- Develop and maintain PMO/Project Controls frameworks and strategies on assigned commissions.
- Support best-in-class service delivery and engage with wider industry bodies to promote Mace.
- Manage project teams in PMO/Project Controls processes (cost, schedule, change, risk, reporting).
- Support senior PMO stakeholders in shaping long-term strategy for a function or Business Unit.
- Mentor and develop project teams; network, share knowledge, and promote best practice through Mace Group resources.
- Support resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission through HUB PMO and project controls director support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent professional/personal development.
- Extensive experience in the delivery phase of projects/programmes.
- Strong understanding of governance, strategic planning techniques, risk analysis, construction technology, delivery, site logistics, and commercial/legal issues.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen; experience leading large, diverse teams.
- Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape project outlook.
Location & Security
Note: The role will be based in our client’s office a minimum of 3 days per week and requires BPSS security clearance. Previous experience leading on baseline and change management for projects is essential.
