Job Summary
Management of the implementation of the design management system and its effectiveness in meeting business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements. Provides leadership to managers & professionals. Oversees all phases or stages of Design Management including interactions/coordination with construction, commercial, programme, procurement, etc. Be responsible for the definition and approval of consultant appointment across all disciplines.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develops delegated elements of annual business plan outcomes to deadlines and budget.
- Leads and manages design resource for project(s).
- Manages daily operations for project design resources/managers.
- Leads and presents management review data/KPIs to project and sub-function leadership.
- Supports business development and work-winning activities.
- Leads the identification, development, and delivery of relevant training.
- Ensures management system adherence and that project roles and responsibilities are followed.
- Acts as focal point for design-related matters on projects.
- Recommends and initiates changes to project delivery plans, develops new design management tools and processes.
- Supports procurement routes, contractual, and legal aspects of projects.
- Contributes to promoting technical excellence and supports communication/dialogue.
- Collaborates with project management office (PMO) teams to coordinate deliverables.
- Utilizes knowledge and experience from company resources (Center of Excellence, Knowledge Hub).
- Supports the net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for managing carbon emissions during delivery.

- Expertise in design risk management and mitigation.
- Experience in prefabrication/build strategies.
- Good negotiation skills supporting client focus.
- Knowledge of Building Safety legislation, standards, contracts, and H&S laws.

- Understanding of how carbon and sustainability considerations influence projects.
