We are looking to recruit a Cost Consultant with an MEP background who can provide full cycle cost management services for ongoing commissions and projects.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports.
- Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
- Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
- Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
- Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
- Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
You’ll need to have:
- Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role. (Preferred, not essential).
- Strong knowledge of MEP and sustainable technologies and experience working in multiple sectors.
- JCT/NEC form of contract experience.
- Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience.
- Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration.
- Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing.
- Strong understanding of industry best practice.
- Understanding of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction impacting Public Sector.
- Capex V Opex Cost Analysis/ advice.
- A degree in quantity surveying/cost management/engineering or equivalent.
- Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS. (Preferred)
